Thousand Islands National Park is one of Canada’s smallest and most unique parks. Part of the larger Thousand Islands Region of the Saint Lawrence River between the US and Canada, this national park comprised of 21 islands and offers visitors a change to hike, boat, and explore the rugged coastline. At only 9.4 square miles, Thousand Islands National Park is small, but with 21 islands and many smaller islets, there’s plenty to do. The park consists of two areas on the mainland, including a visitor center, as well as many places to hike and kayak. While there are trails along the mainland, much of the park is only accessible by boat. Bring your own or rent one from a local outfitter to explore the quieter areas of the park, or take a boat cruise from a local outfitter to explore the entire region.
