New England National Scenic Trail

The New England National Scenic Trail is a long-distance hiking trail that covers a 215-mile stretch from Long Island Sound in Connecticut to the border of Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Along the extensive trail, hikers will enjoy classic New England sights as the path passes through 41 communities and three historic trail systems that are filled with historical landmarks. Some of the natural features to explore include large river valleys, waterfalls, forested glades, and wetlands. Travelers can also appreciate breathtaking farmland views and sweeping vistas from rugged mountain ridges and spectacular summits.

How To Get To New England National Scenic Trail

From Hartford, get onto I-91 S, and then merge onto CT-9 going toward Middletown. In Middletown, stay to the right to get onto CT-17. Follow CT-17 / CT-77 to Guilford before you exit on Whitfield Street. Take a right on Seaside Avenue. The trailhead to the New England Scenic Trail is located on the right in Chittenden Park.
