In the Ozark Highlands of northeast Oklahoma, near the Oklahoma-Arkansas border, you’ll find Natural Falls State Park. This 120-acre park features an impressive 77-foot waterfall that cascades through rock formations into crystal-clear pools. The park is named after these falls — known as Dripping Springs Falls to locals but officially called Natural Falls to distinguish it from nearby Dripping Springs State Park. Before opening to the public in 1997, the park was privately operated as a tourist attraction until the Gadient family decided to donate the lands to the state of Oklahoma for preservation.
Over 100,000 visitors come to Natural Falls State Park each year to behold these stunning falls, which are one of the tallest in the state. Miles of nature trails wind through the park, offering visitors the chance to hike and bike through forested bluffs, upland prairies, and hilly terrain. Visitors can also stroll through rows of flowers in the park’s gardens, play disc golf and volleyball, or go fishing for trout and bass. If the park’s beautiful scenery looks familiar, it might be because the 1974 movie “Where the Red Fern Grow” was filmed there!

At 77-feet high, Natural Falls are the crown jewel of this park, attracting many visitors who want to walk to the waterfall and photograph its cascading waters. However, outdoor adventure at Natural Falls State Park doesn’t stop there! Visitors can also enjoy peaceful hikes through leafy green forests, stroll through the gardens to see local flora in bloom, go fishing in the small pond, or play volleyball and disc golf.

Hiking and Biking - The park has 4.5 miles of trails that wind through the park, each varying in difficulty and length. The most popular trail is Dripping Springs Trail, a half-mile loop that leads to observation decks for picturesque views of the waterfall.
Fishing - Head over to the park’s 3.5-acre lake for an afternoon of fishing in crystal-clear waters. While there are plenty of trout, bass, and other fish to catch, the area is catch and release only, so you’ll have to throw back anything you reel in.
Nature Watching - If you’re lucky, you might spot different elk, white-tailed deer, foxes, and other wildlife that make their home in the park. There are also many types of plants throughout the area, including ferns, mosses, white oaks, and flowering dogwoods. Stroll through the gardens or hit the trails to observe these plants in person.

Natural Falls State Park
Natural Falls State Park is 6 miles west of West Siloam Springs on US-412.
From West Siloam Springs, take US-412 for 6 miles, then turn left onto N4680 Road. Turn left after a quarter mile. The park’s entrance will be on the right.

Admission is $10 per vehicle per day, which can be paid online at www.premuimparking.com. The park hours are daylight to dark, the office and gift shop are open 8:30am to 5:00pm.
