There is a boat ramp, picnic tables, and a playground. It is located 28 miles from Holiday World & Splashin Safari and makes a great respite from the theme parks.

This park is out in the boonies, with nothing else around. You’ll enjoy the quiet and solitude. During the week they aren’t too full, but the lake fills up with fishermen and boaters. Take the time to walk through the park, the scenery is gorgeous.

“This city run park is good for travelers on I-64. I had made an advance reservation and was booked for site 11. Arrived in early afternoon but no one was at check-in. Went directly to the site and set up. Nothing fancy about the park, good basic utilities. Took a walk around the campground and looked at the lake. The lake is a result of coal mining back in the 70’s and stretches for miles. It looked clean and people catch fish. Good cell service and sites are open sunlight so had good satellite service. On exit the next morning the attendant was at the check-in booth so paid my camping fee on the way out. Will stay here again for the convenience to the interstate.
