While known for hosting Fourth of July fireworks, Colt State Park offers recreational activities for visitors all throughout the year. This 464-acre park’s western shore is located on Narragansett Bay near Bristol, Rhode Island. When you visit, you can ride along the four miles of bike trails through the fruit orchards before stopping to have a picnic lunch at the shaded tables. This park was originally privately owned by Samuel Colt, who ordered the construction of many of the walls that are still visible today.
